Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb. 25: A State-Level Training Programme on ‘Model Women Friendly Gram Panchayat (MWFGP)’ was conducted by the Directorate of RD, PRIs & ULBs in its SPRC Training Hall today. The initiative aims to ensure the active participation of women in decision-making processes and to enhance institutional mechanisms for effectively addressing women-related issues at the grassroots level.
Ms. C. Vijya, Domain Expert (Women Empowerment) emphasized on the importance of building gender-sensitive governance structures within PRIs. Smti. Mariam, Sub Inspector, A&N Police highlighted various legal provisions available for the protection of women and discussed the proactive role of law enforcement agencies in ensuring a secure environment for women and girls. Ms Rukhsar Rahim, Para Legal Counselor, Department of Social Welfare, conducted an informative session on legal aid services and support systems available to women.
