Sri Vijaya Puram, March 2: In exercise of the powers conferred under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (Act No. 59 of 1988), read with the Administration’s Notification No. /2008/F.No.32-95/2008-TR dated 10th March, 2008 and in view of the festival of Holi Celebrations during which a large number of devotees are expected to gather at Corbyn’s Cove Beach, the District Magistrate, South Andaman District, has issued the following notification to ensure smooth regulation of vehicular movement and the safety of the devotees:
ONE WAY:
1. The stretch from Corbyn’s Chowk Junction to Mazar Pahad via Corbyn’s Cove has been declared as a One-Way Route, with entry permitted only from Corbyn’s Chowk Junction and exit through Mazar Pahad. No vehicles shall be allowed to ply from Mazar Pahad towards Corbyn’s Cove Beach, except two-wheelers.
2. The entry of Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) on the stretch from Corbyn’s Chowk Junction to Mazar Pahad via Corbyn’s Cove shall remain restricted during the period.
3. The road leading from Children’s Park, Chakkargaon to Corbyn’s Cove Road shall remain closed for general vehicular movement, except for two-wheelers, during the period of Holi celebrations.
The above traffic restrictions shall be enforced on 04.03.2026 from 0900 Hrs to 1600 Hrs. This order shall come into force with immediate effect and shall remain valid for the above-mentioned date and time unless withdrawn earlier.
