Sri Vijaya Puram, March 2: In continuation of the Press Release published on 14/02/2026, the Tourism Department, A&N Administration, will be conducting a Skill Development Training Programme for Astro Guides at
• Little Andaman from 05th to 07th March, 2026
• Mayabunder from 10th to 12th March, 2026
The programme aims to build local capacity in Astro-tourism by equipping participants with essential knowledge and practical skills in night sky observation, basic astronomy, telescope handling, interpretation techniques, and responsible Astro-tourism practices. The initiative is part of the Department’s efforts to diversify tourism offerings and promote sustainable, experience-based tourism across the Islands.
Interested local youth, tourism stakeholders, and nature enthusiasts are encouraged to participate and take advantage of this opportunity to enhance their skills and explore emerging livelihood avenues in Astro-tourism.
Eligibility Criteria:
• Age: Below 40 years (as on 01.03.2026)
• Educational Qualification: Minimum 12th pass from any recognized Board/University
