Sri Vijaya Puram, March 25: Commodore Nambiath Sudeep has taken over as Deputy Director General of NCC Directorate Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Andaman & Nicobar (TN, P &AN). After assuming the charge, he undertook a two- day maiden official visit to the Andaman & Nicobar NCC units on March 24 & 25.
On 24th March 2026, Commodore Nambiath Sudeep called on the Commander-in-Chief Andaman and Nicobar Command (CINCAN) and the Chief of Staff including other senior officials at Headquarters Andaman and Nicobar Command, for discussions focused on NCC activities and improving NCC coordination in the region. Later in the day, the officer visited A&N NCC units in the islands, including the 1 (AN) Naval Unit NCC and the 1 (AN) Indep Inf Coy NCC, where the Naval NCC cadets welcomed him with a ceremonial Guard of Honour. He was accompanied by Colonel T Hariteja, Group Commander Chennai ‘A’ and was received by Lieutenant Commander Reyaz Farooq and Colonel K Y Singh, Commanding Officers of the respective NCC units.
Overall, the visit reflects his strong commitment to strengthening NCC training, expanding its presence and enhancing engagement in the strategically important Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
