Wimberly Gunj, March 25: A grand felicitation ceremony was organized by Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Andaman & Nicobar Islands at the GSSS Auditorium, Wimberly Gunj, to honour the remarkable achievements of Mr. Shiyad, who secured All India Rank 743 in the Civil Services Examination 2025, and Dr. C. Sabique, an accomplished Urologist.
The programme commenced at 6:30 PM with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by P. Mohammed Sajid, President, SIO. N. Abdul Salam delivered the welcome address, setting the tone for an inspiring evening.
Dr. Manoharan, Deputy Education Officer, Wimberly Gunj Zone, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasized the need for institutions in the islands to actively support and guide students in preparing for competitive examinations like the Civil Services, thereby uplifting the academic standards of the region.
MK Mohammed, President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Andaman, delivered the presidential address, highlighting the importance of using one’s achievements and services to benefit humanity with dignity and responsibility.
During the ceremony, momentos were presented to Mr. Shiyad by MK Mohammed, President JIH Andaman, while Dr. C. Sabique received his momento from PK Mohammed Ali, Ex-President JIH Andaman. Appreciation Certificates were also presented by the Islamic Welfare Society (IWS). Mr. Shiyad received his certificate from Dr. Manoharan, Deputy Education Officer, and Dr. C. Sabique was honoured by M. Abdul Majeed, President, IWS.
In his address, Mr. Shiyad inspired the audience by sharing his journey, emphasizing hard work, focus, and perseverance as key factors for success. Dr. C. Sabique, in his speech, highlighted the importance of patience and consistency in achieving one’s goals.
KP Mohammed Yunus, MB Abdul Rasheed, and N. Moosa also addressed the gathering, appreciating Shiyad’s achievement and encouraging students to aim high. An interactive session followed, where students engaged with Shiyad, asking questions and gaining valuable insights.
The event witnessed the participation of nearly 450 people from all walks of life. PRI members from Ferrargunj Tehsil, principals of various schools, and representatives from different organizations were also present.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by P. Yousuf, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, and organizers for making the event a grand success.
