
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 17: The Andaman & Nicobar Police today opened the Centre for Traffic Education and Simulation (CTES) for public, CTES is a modern, interactive facility aimed at promoting road safety through experience and simulation.
The Centre was inaugurated by Shri. Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal, IPS, Director General of Police, A&N Islands, in the presence of senior officers, representatives of the Transport Departments, teachers, and students from JNRM, NCC, and local schools.
Speaking on the occasion, the SP/Traffic highlighted that the CTES represents the evolution of the erstwhile Children’s Traffic Park, established in 1994 and rebuilt in 2005 after the tsunami. “This centre transforms road-safety learning into an engaging, technology-based experience that will inspire responsible road behaviour among young citizens,” he said.
On the Occasion Shri. Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal, IPS, DGP, A&N Islands distributed Helmets to students. He also planted the tree in premises and flagged off the cycle rally of children inside the park.
The CTES features a Car Driving Simulation Hall, interactive exhibits, safety mascots ‘Hasmukh Lal’ and ‘Kadak Singh’, and a Dummy License Zone with reward points to encourage safe practices. The facility is also equipped with CCTV coverage, fire-safety measures, and APWD-certified electrical safety.
The A&N Police reaffirmed their commitment to enforce safer roads and responsible communities through education and public participation.
