
Sri Vijaya Puram, June 20: The Andaman Association of Tour Operators (AATO) successfully organised its 3rd Andaman Road Show at Hotel Lemon Tree, Sri Vijayapuram, with the goal of promoting tourism opportunities in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and facilitating meaningful engagement between local and national stakeholders.
The event was inaugurated by Smti. Jyoti Kumari, IAS, Secretary (Tourism), A&N Administration, Chief Guest of the occassion. She actively interacted with the participating delegates and appreciated the initiative by AATO to promote responsible and sustainable tourism.
Among the Special Guests were Shri. N. Vel Murugan, Assistant Director, India Tourism (Ministry of Tourism, GOI), Shri. Vinayak Chamadiya, Director (Tourism), Shri. Chandrasekhar, President of ANCCI, Shri. Madan Lall, General Secretary of ANCCI, and Shri. Mohd. Jadwet, Chapter Chairman, IATO and Director of Makruzz.
Shri. Mohd. Jadwet addressed the gathering and urged the visiting delegates to share sincere feedback — both positive and negative — about their experiences in the Andaman Islands, so that the industry and authorities can work together to improve the overall visitor experience.
The road show witnessed the participation of over 150 AATO members and 30 invited domestic and international agents, including delegates from South Korea, who are on a FAM (familiarisation) tour across the islands.
In his welcome address, Shri. M. Vinod, President, AATO, emphasised the importance of such road shows in connecting the islands with the broader travel trade network and promoting the Andamans as a premium destination.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri. K. Hamza, General Secretary, AATO, who expressed gratitude to all guests, partners, and delegates for their support. A cultural performance and networking dinner followed, giving attendees an opportunity to discuss collaborations and exchange ideas.
