AATO Joins Hands with India Tourism to Celebrate International Day of Yoga at Swaraj Dweep

Swaraj Dweep, June 22: The Andaman Association of Tour Operators (AATO) proudly partnered with India Tourism, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, in successfully organising the International Day of Yoga celebrations at Swaraj Dweep on 21st June 2025.

Originally planned to be held on the pristine shores of Radhanagar Beach, the event had to be relocated to the Taj Exotica Resort & Spa due to continuous rainfall. Despite the shift in venue, the celebrations saw an overwhelming response from the tourism fraternity and visiting delegates.

Over 100 tourism stakeholders, including local tour operators, hoteliers, lifeguards, and members of the tourism department, participated in the event. A special highlight was the presence of 31 travel agents from across India and abroad, currently on a familiarization tour of the islands. Their enthusiastic participation not only showcased the growing interest in the Andamans as a wellness and nature destination but also highlighted the spirit of collaboration among tourism stakeholders.

Members of AATO, under the leadership of President Shri M. Vinod, joined the celebration in large numbers, reaffirming their support for sustainable and wellness tourism in the islands.

Shri Vel Murugan, Assistant Director, India Tourism, extended his appreciation to AATO, the management and staff of Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, and all local stakeholders for their swift support and cooperation in ensuring the success of the event despite challenging weather conditions.

AATO expresses gratitude to all its members and partners who came together to mark this significant day. The association remains committed to promoting the Andaman Islands as a destination that embraces wellness, sustainability, and meaningful travel experiences.
