AH&VS Conducts Awareness Programs on Artificial Insemination at Kadamtala and Baratang

Baratang, Nov. 6: The Department of AH&VS conducted awareness programs on Artificial Insemination (AI) in cattle recently at Broomsvalley, Kadamtala; Adazig; and Nayagarh-2, Baratang. The initiatives aimed to educate farmers and PRI members on AI techniques to enhance livestock productivity and breeding management in the region.

The programs saw the active participation of PRI members and local farmers. On Oct. 28, 16 participants attended the session at Broomsvalley, Kadamtala, while 5 participants joined at Adazig. The following day, 8 participants participated in the program at Nayagarh-2, Baratang. Veterinary experts provided detailed information on AI procedures, benefits for improving milk production, and best practices for successful implementation.

The sessions emphasized the importance of AI in genetic improvement and disease control, equipping attendees with knowledge to adopt modern breeding methods. The AH&VS Department encouraged farmers to utilize AI services at nearby veterinary facilities to boost herd quality and economic returns.
