
Mayabunder, Nov. 14: The DAH&VS conducted a series of Artificial Insemination (AI) awareness camps under Gram Panchayats Rampur, Chainpur, Pahalgaon, and Kishori Nagar, falling under the jurisdiction of the Veterinary Hospital, Webi, with the objective of promoting scientific cattle breeding and uplifting rural livelihoods.
During the camps, Dr. Sujata Hedge, Senior Veterinary Officer and Dr. Bhojane Nagnath Martand, Senior Veterinary Officer elaborated on the multifaceted benefits of Artificial Insemination. Farmers were also sensitized to crucial livestock management practices including accurate heat detection, timely insemination, balanced nutrition, systematic deworming, and overall herd health care to achieve higher conception rates and healthier progeny. Repeat-breeding cattle presented by farmers were examined on the spot, treated appropriately, and given technical guidance tailored to their needs. Deworming medicines were also distributed to cattle, goats, and pigs as part of the health support initiative.
