AH&VS Conducts Training Programme on Fodder Cultivation at Kadamtala

Kadamtala, July 28: The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services (AH&VS), organized a two-day training program on fodder cultivation on July 22 and 23, 2025, at the Veterinary Dispensary, Kadamtala, under the UTATMA scheme. The training program aimed to enhance livestock productivity by equipping farmers with knowledge and skills for sustainable fodder production was conducted by Dr Nazarna Sen Gupta, Senior Veterinary Officer (SVO), Kadamtala.

The training was graced by the Pradhan of Kadamtala and a Ward member, who shared their insights on the importance of fodder cultivation for improving animal nutrition and supporting rural livelihoods.

The program focused on practical techniques for cultivating high-yield fodder crops, emphasizing soil preparation, seed selection, irrigation, and crop management to ensure a consistent supply of nutritious feed for livestock.

Participants were educated on the role of quality fodder in enhancing milk production, animal health, and overall farm productivity. Senior Veterinary Officer, Kadamtala provided hands-on demonstrations, guiding farmers through the process of establishing fodder plots and integrating them into their farming systems. The training also highlighted the benefits of the UTATMA scheme, which supports farmers in adopting sustainable agricultural and livestock practices to improve economic outcomes.
