
Mayabunder, Nov. 10: The Department of AH&VS distributed 363 chicks, ducklings, and quails to 16 farmers in Rampur Panchayat, Mayabunder, on Nov. 8. The initiative aimed to promote backyard poultry farming and enhance livelihood opportunities in the region.
The distribution included a mix of resilient poultry breeds suitable for local conditions, enabling farmers to diversify their livestock and improve nutritional security. These birds offer potential for egg and meat production, contributing to household income and food availability. Beneficiaries were advised on best practices for rearing, including vaccination, feeding, and biosecurity measures to ensure successful integration into their farms.
By providing quality inputs, the Department seeks to empower farmers and promote sustainable animal husbandry. The active participation of 16 farmers highlights their dedication to adopting improved practices.
