Alertness and Timely Intervention of PS Aberdeen Staff Saves Distressed Minor Girl at Corbyn’s Cove Beach

Sri Vijaya Puram, May 12: In a commendable act of alertness, kindness and timely intervention of staff of PS Aberdeen rescued a distressed minor girl from attempting suicide at Corbyn’s Cove Beach. Her swift response ensured the safety of the girl and the commitment of Andaman & Nicobar Police towards protection of life and public safety.

On 11/05/2026, HC(SG) Basanti Mistry of PS Aberdeen was performing duty at Corbyn’s Cove Beach when she noticed a minor girl sitting alone on the seashore in a distressed condition. On noticing the same, she approached the girl and enquired into the matter. During the enquiry, the girl was found under mental trauma, depression and with intensions of suicidal thoughts to end her life. On this, HC(SG) Basanti Mistry brought the distressed girl to Aberdeen Police Station for necessary counselling.

During counselling, the victim girl put forth the incidents happened with her and upon this, necessary legal actions have been initiated.
