Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 20: In a proud and historic moment for the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, the U-17 Girls’ Football Team is representing the Islands for the first time at the prestigious 65th Subroto Mukerjee Cup International Football Tournament–2026, which commenced on 18th August, 2026 in New Delhi.
Displaying remarkable teamwork, determination, and sporting excellence, the Isles girls scripted a memorable winning start to their maiden campaign in the tournament, registering a commanding 04–01 victory over the Lakshadweep Team in their opening pool fixture on 19th August, 2026.
