Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 7: The Pencak Silat Association of Andaman and Nicobar Islands is proud to announce the historic success of our state team at the 7th South Zone Pencak Silat Championship 2026, held in Puducherry from 5th to 6th September 2026.
A talented 19-member PENCAK SILAT squad—comprising 9 male and 10 female students selected from various schools across the islands—delivered an extraordinary performance to clinch a total of 23 medals, consisting of 13 Gold and 10 Bronze medals.
The outstanding victory is the result of the intense dedication of the players and the rigorous training provided by PENCAK SILAT MARTIAL ARTS coaches Mr. Logarjun M, Mr. M. Manikandan, Mr. B. Chalapathi Rao, and dedicated senior students under the guidance of Master M.S. Murugan Ex. SUB-INSPECTOR A&N Police (IRBn) and President of PSAANI.
“Our athletes gave their absolute best on the field,” said Shri M.S. Murugan, President of the Pencak Silat Association Andaman and Nicobar Islands (PSAANI).
