Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 10: The Andaman Nicobar Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Sri Vijaya Puram has initiated an annual event, which is now in its 10th year, titled ‘Andaman Marathon’ with the objective to put the Andaman Islands in the global tourism map to promote and create awareness for a healthy life-style. Our theme for this year is “Run for Nature” to create awareness among islander to keep our Islands clean.
The event is being organized in association with the Andaman & Nicobar Administration. Over the years, the event has generated substantial interest not only in the islands but also in other parts of the country as well as internationally.
The event will be flagged off from the historic Cellular Jail on Sunday the 08th February, 2026 at 05:15 hrs. and also prize distribute to the winners at 07:30 hrs. at the Netaji Stadium.
All arrangements for conducting the Andaman Marathon 2026 on 08th February, 2026 is going on in full swing. This year we are expecting more than 2000 participants under the following categories:
Andaman Marathon has three events in five categories separately for male and female participants as mention above SL. No 1 to 5, A total prize money of Rs. 10,05,000/- lakhs (Rupees Ten Lakh and Five thousand Only).
The event also includes a one and half kilometre ‘Run for Fun’ starting from the historic Cellular Jail and concluding at Netaji Stadium.
The prize money has been restricted to Indian Nationals/Islanders only.
Registration for all events are taking place on line or in ANCCI Office. We are expecting our Brand Ambassador Shri Rahul Bose along with Mr. Esow Elben, Indian Cyclist, in Year 2018-19 Number One world Junior category and now in Elit India Number 5th Position, at present his is Delhi for Indian Camp, Ms. Rajina Kiro- she is number one kayaking Indian player, took braunz medals in Asian game 2011, now she is coaching the Indian team in Uttarakhand section Now she is Coach in India Team of Uttarakhand both are Islander and a Celebrity Guest to participate in the flag off at 0515 hrs, as well as the award function at Netaji Stadium at 0730 hrs.
