Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 2: The Andaman Nicobar Sailing Club (ANSC) organised Light Up Regatta 2026, celebrating the spirit of sailing and encouraging young sailing enthusiasts in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. It was an initiative of ANIIDCO under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
As part of the event, sailing races were conducted for young sailors, providing them an opportunity to showcase their sailing skills and competitive spirit. Ms. Akanchha Singh, Director (IP&T), A&N Administration, distributed trophies to the winners and certificates to all participants, recognising their achievements and encouraging them to pursue sailing.
The highlight of the event was the spectacular Light Up Sailing Display, during which beautifully illuminated sailing boats sailed in the waters near Marina Park and Flag Point, Sri Vijaya Puram. The colourful lights reflecting on the sea created a captivating visual spectacle.
The event aimed to promote sailing as a water sport, nurture young sailing talent and showcase the potential of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands as a destination for sailing and marine recreational activities.
