Andaman Tourism Delegation Participates in National Stakeholders Consultation on Developing 50 World-Class Tourist Destination at Delhi

New Delhi, Sept. 10: A delegation from Andaman Tourism actively participated in the day-long stakeholders consultation convened by the Ministry of Tourism at Hotel The Ashok, New Delhi. The consultation witnessed the participation of nearly 200 stakeholders including representatives from States/UTs, industry leaders, and investors, with a common objective of charting a roadmap for developing 50 destinations of global standards.

The Andaman & Nicobar Islands delegation was led by Mrs. Chanchal Yadav, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Tourism), A&N Administration, along with Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav, DRC, Andaman Bhawan, New Delhi, and Shri Mohan Vinod, President, Andaman Association of Tour Operators (AATO).

The deliberations focused on private sector–led tourism hub development and the creation of a PLI-based Destination Maturity Model. The valuable insights shared during the discussions will serve as the guiding framework for the final design and rollout of upcoming schemes, strengthening the vision of sustainable and world-class tourism in India.

Speaking during the conference, Shri Mohan Vinod, President, AATO, highlighted the need for increasing the number of aircrafts, introducing international connectivity, establishing a single-window clearance system for all tourism-related projects, and including the Andaman & Nicobar Islands in the promotional campaigns of the Ministry of Tourism. He emphasized that these measures would significantly help in branding the Andamans as one of the most sought-after destinations for both domestic and international tourists.

On this occasion, Shri Mohan Vinod also expressed his gratitude to the Andaman & Nicobar Administration and the Department of Tourism for providing AATO the opportunity to be part of such a significant consultation. He stated that the outcome of this initiative would undoubtedly give a major boost to the development of Destination Andaman in Domestic and International Markets.
