ANIIMS in Association with GPHAR Hosts Global Health Summit 2026

Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 8: Andaman and Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences (ANIIMS) in association with GPHAR, hosted the Global Health Summit 2026 on September 6 & 7, 2026 under the theme ‘Advancing Science. Empowering Families.’ The two-day summit brings together healthcare professionals, faculty members, researchers, students and experts to deliberate on contemporary health challenges and emerging developments in medicine, public health and healthcare innovation.

The Global Health Summit-2026 was inaugurated on 6th September by Dr. Mukesh Tripathi, Director, ANIIMS and Dr. Siddharaju, Director of Health Services, A&N Islands.

The celebrations commenced with a Teachers’ Day Felicitation Ceremony at ANIIMS on 5th September, 2026, honouring the invaluable contribution of teachers to medical education and healthcare. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Lokendra Sharma, Principal, Govt. Medical College, Tonk, Dr. Pramod Shankhpal, Addl. Professor & HoD, Pharmacology, TN Medical College, Mumbai and Dr. Ashok Pal Gobind, Associate Professor, Anatomy, ANIIMS.

Key areas including Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), Preventive Pharmacology and Mental Health Awareness are being addressed through expert lectures, interactive sessions, workshops, and paper and poster presentations.
