
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 12: Shri Arjun Sharma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of South Andaman, chaired the 6th Review Meeting of the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan on October 8, 2025, at Sri Vijaya Puram. The meeting focused on assessing the progress of the nationwide campaign to eliminate tuberculosis (TB) in the South Andaman District.
Officials presented detailed data on key aspects of the campaign, including screening of vulnerable populations, updates on treatment progress, and the status of TB Mukt Panchayat initiatives. The discussions emphasized strengthening community-level interventions, enhancing awareness, and ensuring timely medical support for affected individuals.
Shri Arjun Sharma commended the efforts of the health department and local administration while urging officials to intensify screening in outreach and high-risk areas to achieve the goal of a TB-free South Andaman. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan and called for coordinated efforts to meet the national target of eliminating TB by 2025.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Health Department.
