
Mayabunder, Feb. 17: Shri S Krishna Chaitanya, Additional District Magistrate/Assistant Commissioner (HQ), N&M Andaman District launched the Pre-Marital Communication Centre (PMCC) at the One Stop Centre, North & Middle Andaman District. This initiative has been launched to promote healthy relationships, strengthen family well-being, and prevent domestic violence among young couples.
The Pre-Marital Communication Centre (PMCC) is an initiative of the National Commission for women and aims to provide guidance, counselling and support services to couples a safe and accessible platform for pre-marital counselling. The Centre focuses on improving communication skills, mutual understanding, conflict resolution skills, and awareness about rights and responsibilities within marriage.
Through professional counselling and interactive sessions, the Pre-Marital Communication Centre (PMCC) will help couples build to strong foundation for married life and reduce misunderstanding. This initiative also strengthens efforts towards women’s safety, emotional support and social harmony in the community. Services offered are Pre-marital counselling; Relationship and communication guidance; Family and legal awareness; Emotional and psychological support and Referral services, when required.
All services are confidential, supportive, and accessible to the public. The District Administration, N&MA District is encouraging young couples and individuals to avail themselves of these services to strengthen their relationships and contribute to a harmonious society.
