
Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 13: Under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, the District Health Society, South Andaman, in coordination with the Directorate of Health Services organised an Awareness-cum-Screening Camp at the Community Hall, Buniyadabad. The initiative was held with the support of Smti. Laxmi Ganeshan, Councillor, Ward No. 8, to promote early detection and prevention of tuberculosis and non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
As part of the camp, NCD-cum-TB screening through Chest X-ray was conducted, alongside the creation of Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) IDs and Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) health cards to facilitate access to healthcare services.
A total of 59 individuals were screened for symptoms of TB and 37 Chest X-Rays were conducted.
The camp served as an important platform to create awareness on TB prevention, early detection, and treatment adherence, as well as to sensitise the community on healthy lifestyle practices to curb NCDs.
