Rangat, Jan. 11: Beach Sports Festival under the calendar of events 2025 – 2026 of A&N Administration was celebrated at the Raman Bagicha Beach, Nimbutala. The sports festival was inaugurated by the Pramukh, Panchayat Samiti Rangat, Ms. Sita Majhi as the chief guest in the presence of Zilla Prishad Members, Panchayat Samiti Members, Pradhans of Rangat Tehsil, Officials of all line departments and a large gathering of general public and visitors. The event is being organized by the office of the Assistant Commissioner, Middle Andaman, Rangat in collaboration with Department of IP&T, A&N Administration. The chief guest also gave away prizes to the winners of the sprint event.
A series of beach sports events are being organized for school level under 14&17 boys and girls and open to all men & women. The sports discipline included beach sprint, skipping, kabaddi, volleyball, swimming, football, tug-of-war, musical chair, passing the ball with music and Tennikoit (Singles). The sports events are being conducted with the support of the Education Department, Rangat.
Earlier, the Tehsildar Rangat, Shri Ramesh Kumar welcomed the gathering and informed about the importance of sports in one’s life. The event concluded today with prize distribution.
