Biological Park Organises Competitions, Film Screening and Educational Tour for School Students

Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 7: As part of the 71st Wildlife Week celebrations, the Biological Park, Chidiyatapu, organized Poster Making and Stone Painting competitions, a Film Screening, and an educational tour inside the park on Oct. 4 & 6 focusing on the endemic animals of the A&N Islands.

Students from Government Senior Secondary Schools of Rangachang, Prothrapur, Bathubasti, Garacharma, and Tushnabad actively participated, showcasing their creativity and awareness about local wildlife. Similarly, students from Government Primary School, Chidiyatapu demonstrated keen interest, creativity, and understanding of wildlife and their habitats.

The programme aimed to provide students with an immersive wildlife experience, enabling them to identify various animals, appreciate their uniqueness, and understand the importance of conserving natural habitats.    The event concluded on a positive note with closing remarks by the Smti. Meera Nambiar, Deputy Director of the Biological Park, Chidiyatapu, who emphasized the collective responsibility and commitment towards conserving the Islands’ endemic fauna, in alignment with the spirit of Wildlife Week 2025.
