Citizens Strongly Advised not to Share Any OTPs During Ongoing SIR of Electoral Rolls

Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 20: As the citizens are aware, the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls is currently ongoing in 12 States/UTs, including the Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

The Electors of Andaman & Nicobar Islands are hereby informed that the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, A&N Islands, the office of District Election Officer, Office of the Electoral Registration Officer, Office of the Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) do NOT ever ask for any OTPs from electors for any work related to Special Intensive Revision (SIR). All BLO verification activities are carried out strictly through door-to-door visits or through officially prescribed forms and procedures as per the Election Commission of India’s guidelines.

Citizens are strongly advised not to share any OTP or personal details with unknown callers and to remain vigilant against such fraudulent activities.

If any elector receives a suspicious call or message asking for OTP claiming to be BLO for SIR verification, they are requested to immediately report to the nearest Police Station, call the Voter Helpline 1950 or inform the nearest Assistant Electoral Registration Office.

The Chief Electoral Officer, A&N Islands, Shri L. Kumar, IAS urges all electors to rely only on official communication channels for authentic information related to the Special Intensive Revision.
