Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 16: The Centre of Indian Trade Unions and Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association jointly observed the 19th Death Anniversary of Comrade R. Pious D’ silva, former President of the Association and CITU today (16.11.2025). A remembrance meeting was held at Crusade House, Phoenix Bay, Port Blair.
B. Chandrachoodan, General Secretary and D. Ayyappan, Vice President of CITU A & N State Committee and RD Yadav, Vice President and R. Rajendran, General Secretary of NGOs’ Association spoke on the occasion. They recalled the contribution of Com Pious to the trade union movement in Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Speakers called upon the leaders and members of the Association and unions to emulate the hard work, honesty and sincerity of Com R. Pious D’ silva.
Daughters of Com Pious, Stephnie and Sonia and grandson also attended the function.
