Sri Vjaya Puram, Aug 10: CPI (M) Port Blair City Area Committee carried out a Candlelight March today (9.8.2025) evening at Port Blair town to protest against the frequent power cut at Port Blair and nearby rural South Andaman areas. CPI (M) workers and supporters marched from Gandhi statue at Mohanpura and ended in front of the Municipal Council office, Mohanpura.
Addressing the participants in the Candlelight March, D. Ayyappan, Secretary, State Orgnaising Committee criticized the Modi government for the present situation of frequent power disruption. He said that the Party will continue to resort to agitations in the coming days also to expose the failure of the BJP government to resolve the problems of the islanders. D. Laxman Rao, State Secretariat Member and P. Sathyapal, Secretary, Port Blair City Area Committee also addressed the participants in the Candlelight March. The March was led by B. Chandrachoodan, State Secretariat Member and SP Kalairajan, State Organising Committee Member of the Party.
