
Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 18: A vibrant cultural programme titled “NAMAN” was organised by the Andaman & Nicobar Police at Marina Park, Sri Vijaya Puram, yesterday, as part of the 74th Police Raising Week celebrations. The programme paid a solemn tribute to the brave martyrs, police personnel, and freedom fighters who laid down their lives in the service of the nation.
The programme was held in the presence of the Director General of Police, A&N Islands, Shri Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal, IPS, who was the chief guest of the occasion, along with senior officers of the A&N Administration and A&N Police. The event witnessed a large gathering, including family members of martyrs, police personnel, and a huge number of spectators, reflecting strong police–public bonding and collective respect for the sacrifices made by the force.
The cultural evening featured patriotic songs, brass band performances, and cultural dances showcasing India’s unity in diversity, along with an awareness skit on drug abuse, alcoholism, and cyber crime, highlighting the commitment of the police force towards social responsibility and community well-being.
The programme formed an integral part of the 74th Police Raising Week celebrations, reinforcing the values of sacrifice, service, and unity, and showcasing the dedication and talent of police personnel beyond their operational duties.
