DCSA in Collaboration with DSY&A to Organise Badminton Tournament as Part of Awareness Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse

Sri Vijaya Puram, July 21: As part of the ongoing awareness campaign against alcohol and drug abuse, the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman District, in collaboration with the Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs, A&N Administration, will organize a Badminton Tournament from Aug. 1 to 5 at the Multipurpose Hall, Netaji Stadium, Sri Vijaya Puram.

The tournament aims to spread awareness about the harmful effects of alcohol and drug abuse while promoting a healthy, active, and disciplined lifestyle through sports. The initiative seeks to encourage people, particularly the youth, to stay away from substance abuse and adopt sports as a positive and productive way of life.

The championship will feature competitions in the following age categories:

Open Category (Men & Women): Singles and Doubles

Above 45 Years Category (Men & Women): Singles and Doubles

Under-18 Category (Boys and Girls): Singles and Doubles

The Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs and the District Administration has invited interested badminton players, students, Government employees, defence personnel and the general public to participate in the tournament and support this important social initiative.
