
Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 31: The Office of the Deputy Director Education (Science), Directorate of Education, organized a 3-Day In-Service Practical Hands-on Training Programme for GTT (Sc.) teachers of N&M Andaman District & Nicobar District on 27th, 29th & 31st August. The objective of the training was to strengthen practical and experimental skills among science teachers and to make science teaching more activity-based, joyful & experiential.
The training was held simultaneously in three centrally located schools – GMSSS, Aberdeen, GSSS RBV & GBSSS, Middle Point. 98 Teachers (GTT (Science/ Life Science/ Physical Science)) from various Govt. Schools participated in the training. During the three days training programme, teachers performed hands-on experiments in Physics, Chemistry and Biology labs, and were trained on effective use of laboratory equipments, safety measures and demonstration techniques.
The valedictory function was held today in the Auditorium of GMSSS, Aberdeen. Shri. Ram Pravesh, Deputy Director Education (Science) emphasized that such hands-on trainings are essential to bridge the gap between theory and practical and urged the teachers to replicate the experiments in their respective schools and inculcate scientific temper among students.
