Sri Vijaya Puram, May 14: The Directorate of Arts & Culture, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, in its continued endeavor to nurture theatre among the youth and general public of these Islands, will be organizing a month-long theatre workshop, in collaboration with the National School of Drama, New Delhi, in the month of June 2026. This workshop seeks to inspire creativity, instill discipline, and cultivate appreciation for the performing arts, thereby strengthening the cultural identity of the Islands.
Applications are invited from islanders who aspire to explore theatre, plays, and drama. Participation in the workshop is limited to 30 persons only and selection will be done by the selection committee comprised of officials from NSD, New Delhi and Arts & Culture Department, A&N Administration. Applicants must be above 18 years of age and should be committed to attend the workshop to ensure the highest standards of learning and practice.
The workshop will provide participants with intensive training in acting, stagecraft, voice modulation, movement, and dramatic interpretation under the guidance of distinguished faculty from the National School of Drama. It is envisioned as a transformative experience that will not only hone artistic skills but also foster confidence, teamwork, and cultural awareness among the participants.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn from one of India’s premier institutions of theatre and to contribute to the vibrant cultural life of the Islands.
