Mayabunder, June 26: Under devolution of power to the PRI, the Zilla Parishad N&M Andaman is implementing UT Schemes of Fisheries Department namely “Subsidy for Construction/ Purchase of Motorized/ Mechanized Fishing Boats” to support the bonafide Fishers/ Local unemployed youth/ entrepreneurs / Fisheries Co-operative society/ Federation, Andaman & Nicobar Islands in increasing the fish production for the Islands.
In this regard, applications have been invited from all Panchayat areas of N&M Andaman interested in Construction/ Purchase of Motorized/ Mechanized Fishing Boats under UT Plan scheme of the Department during the year 2025-2026.
Pattern of Assistance under the UT plan Scheme ‘Subsidy for Construction/ Purchase of motorized/ Mechanized Fishing Boats’
For General fishers /Local unemployed youth / Local entrepreneurs / Fisheries Co-operative societies of A&N Islands: Subsidy@ 50% of the unit cost fixed by the Department of Fisheries A&N Administration.
The application form & the detailed Guidelines of the UT Plan Subsidy Programme can be obtained from the Zonal Fisheries Office N&M Andaman and the nearest Fisheries Sub-Stations (Rangat, Kadamtala, Billiground, Diglipur). The applications completed in all respect should reach the nearest fisheries Zonal Office/ Sub-Stations on or before 31/07/2025.
