Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 19: The Department of Sports & Youth Affairs, A&N Administration, in association with various line Departments of the A&N Administration, Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council (SVPMC), Zilla Parishad and other institutions, will organise ‘Run for Unity’ on 31st October, 2026 at 6 pm to commemorate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day), marking the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, popularly known as the Iron Man of India. The ‘Run for Unity’ aims to promote the values of national unity, integrity, solidarity and togetherness among citizens, particularly the youth.
Approximately 500 students from the Education Department and other educational institutions are expected to participate in the run. The event will commence from Netaji Stadium, proceed towards Corbyn’s Cove, and return to Netaji Stadium. The Department of Sports & Youth Affairs invites students, youth and the general public to participate enthusiastically in the Run for Unity and reaffirm their commitment to the ideals of national unity and integrity.
