Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 21: The Directorate of Fisheries, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, has invited applications from eligible beneficiaries under the “Subsidy on Transportation and Logistics (ANI-7) for Fisheries Sector under the RAMP Programme” under Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP scheme), Ministry of Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India.
The scheme aims to reduce transportation and logistics costs for fisheries-based MSMEs by providing financial assistance towards the transportation of fish, fishery products, fish seed, and feed, thereby improving market access and strengthening the fisheries value chain.
The scheme is open to MSME-registered fish traders, fish processing units, aquaculture farms, fishermen cooperatives, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) engaged in fisheries-related activities and possessing a valid Udyam Registration Certificate.
The components of financial assistance under the scheme are as follows:
1. Transportation of Fish and Fishery Products (Andaman & Nicobar Islands to Mainland):
•20% subsidy on eligible freight charges for transportation by Air, subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs.1.00 lakh per beneficiary per financial year.
•10% subsidy on eligible freight charges for transportation by Ship, subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs.1.00 lakh per beneficiary per financial year.
2. Transportation of Fisheries Inputs (Mainland to Andaman & Nicobar Islands / Inter-Island Transportation):
•50% subsidy on eligible freight charges for transportation of fish seed and feed, subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs.0.50 lakh per beneficiary per financial year.
Eligible beneficiaries may obtain the prescribed application form along with the Annexure from the Zonal Fisheries Office, South Andaman, during office hours on all working days. The Scheme Guidelines are also available in the office for reference. In addition, the application form and the Scheme Guidelines can be downloaded from the official websites of the Department of Fisheries and the Andaman & Nicobar Administration.
The duly filled-in application in all respects, complete with the prescribed annexure and supporting documents, shall be submitted to the Zonal Fisheries Office of respective districts, within 30 days from the date of shipment, as stipulated in the Scheme Guidelines.
