District Administration Cracks Down on Illegal Stone Crusher Operation in South Andaman

Sri Vjaya Puram, Aug. 8: As part of its ongoing commitment to uphold environmental laws and ensure responsible utilization of natural resources, the District Administration, South Andaman, has taken firm action against the unauthorized operation of a stone crusher unit.

Acting on a complaint regarding the illegal functioning of a crushing unit and excavator without valid clearance from the Pollution Control Board, a team of revenue officials conducted a surprise inspection. The stone crusher unit, located in Prothrapur village, was found to be operating in violation of environmental norms. The unit was immediately sealed, and both the stone crusher and the excavator found at the site were seized. Additionally, the structure housing the crushing unit was demolished.
