DSS Postpones/ Cancels Sailings Due to Deteriorating Weather Conditions

Sri Vijaya Puram, July 23: In view of the weather advisory issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) indicating a deterioration in weather conditions and the likely formation of a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal, the Directorate of Shipping Services, keeping in view the safety of passengers and vessels, has postponed/cancelled the following sailing schedules of DSS vessels:

1) MV North Passage: The scheduled sailing of MV North Passage to Little Andaman on 24.07.2025 at 0615 Hrs from Phoenix Bay Jetty and its return voyage on the same day at 1300 Hrs from Little Andaman to Sri Vijaya Puram has been cancelled. Passengers holding tickets for these sailings are advised to cancel their tickets and obtain a full refund.

2) MV Campbell Bay: The sailing of MV Campbell Bay to Little Andaman, initially scheduled for 22.07.2025 and later postponed to 24.07.2025, has been further postponed until weather conditions improve.

3) Nalanda: The sailing of Nalanda to Campbell Bay via Nancowry, scheduled on 22.07.2025 from Sri Vijaya Puram and later rescheduled to 24.07.2025, has been further postponed until weather conditions improve.

4) MV Sentinel: The scheduled sailing of MV Sentinel to Nancowry via all ports on 24.07.2025 at 0700 Hrs from Sri Vijaya Puram has been postponed till weather conditions improve.

Additionally, Foreshore Sector and Harbour/Vehicle Ferry services at Sri Vijaya Puram and outstations may also be disrupted or suspended at short notice depending on the prevailing weather conditions. Passengers and tourists are therefore advised to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid any inconvenience.
