EEI Hyderabad Organises Off-Campus Training on Agro Tourism and Natural Farming

Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 12: Extension Education Institute, (EEI), Rajendranagar, Hyderabad in association with Department of Agriculture, A&N Administration has organized two off-campus training programs on ‘Agro Tourism-A Novel Approach for Profitability’ & ‘Natural Farming for Sustainable Agriculture’ for the officers /officials of Department of Agriculture from Nov. 3 to 7.     

The objective of the training programmes on Agro Tourism and Natural Farming is to enhance the knowledge and skills of the participating officers in innovative and sustainable agricultural practices while also exploring the potential of Agro Tourism as a novel approach for improving farm profitability and promoting rural livelihood diversification.

As part of the training programme, field visit were conducted in the Natural Farming farmer’s field at Ferrargunj village, where hands-on demonstrations on the preparation of various components viz  Jeevamrit, Beejamrit, Neemastra, Agniastra and Ghanajeevamrit  of natural farming were organized. Both the farmers and the trainees participated enthusiastically, making the session highly interactive and informative.  

As part of the Agro Tourism training, a visit to the Departmental Farm was organized to provide trainees with practical exposure to the concept of Agro Tourism and to demonstrate how such initiatives can motivate and empower farmers by showcasing agriculture as a viable and profitable enterprise through tourism-based activities

Altogether, 40 officers/officials of Department, 1 Krishi Sakhi and 1 SHG member attended the programme.
