Electricity Department to Impart Training Under Apprentices (Amendment Act 1961) to Candidates with Degree or Diploma

Sri Vijay Puram, May 27: It is for the information of all concerned that the Electricity Department, A&N Administration will be imparting training under the Apprentices (Amendment) Act 1961 and its amendments thereof in the following disciplines for a period of 1 year, to the candidates possessing Degree, Diploma in the respective category.

1. Graduate apprentices – 15 candidates – 1 year

2. Diploma apprentices – 24 candidates – 1 year

A. Conditions of Eligibility:

•Candidates who possess Degree or Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical/ Electrical & Electronics Engineering from a recognized institute are eligible for Graduate / Diploma Apprenticeship Training.

•The candidate who had already been trained under this scheme or having job experience for a period of one year or more is not eligible in terms of the prescribed rules.

•The candidates who had already undergone apprenticeship under this Act/Govt. of India’s scheme and in whose case the contract of apprenticeship was terminated for any reasons what so ever shall not be eligible.

•The candidates could get himself / herself enrolled/ registered period of three with this scheme within a specific period of three years after passing qualifying examination.

B. Period of Training:

•The engagement as apprentice will be purely for training for the period as specified above and will be terminated on completion. The engagement as apprentice is only temporary and shall not lead to absorption. The Electricity Department does not give any commitment on providing permanent/temporary employment to apprentices on successful completion of training period.

•During the period under apprenticeship training the trainee will be attached to any of the Power House/T&D Sub-Division/Workshop/offices at different island of the Electricity Department and will be under Administrative control of the Superintending Engineer, Electricity Department.

C. Rate of Stipend Payable per month:

1. Graduate apprentices: Rs 12300

2. Diploma apprentices: Rs 10900

D. How to apply:

•Graduate /Diploma candidate fulfilling the eligibility criteria shall log on to https://nats.education.gov.in   and enroll.

•Before filling the application online, candidate has to ensure that he/she is fulfilling the advertising specifications. All the candidates are advised to fill all the relevant information and upload all the necessary documents. Incomplete profiles may not be accepted.

•After registering candidates are on the apprenticeship portal, apprenticeship training against notified apprenticeship required to apply online for opportunities posted by the Electricity Department. These opportunities will be available on https://nats.education.gov.in for a period of 1 month tentatively from 08.05.2026 to 07.06.2026.

•Shortlisted Candidates shall be called for document verification during which candidates are required to appear with all the original documents, along with self-attested copy of following testimonials (Educational Qualification, Proof of age, Employment registration card, Aadhar Card, PAN card & Bank pass book) and 2 passport size photo.

•Electricity Department reserves the right for final appointments of the candidates as discretion, without any further notice and without per its assigning any reasons thereof.

• Providing the apprenticeship training by this administration does not mean any guarantee for claiming by any reason or so for employment in the Electricity Department after completion of the said training.

•Selected candidates shall be engaged as an apprentice anywhere in all three districts of A&N Islands.
