First Meeting of Academic Council of NSCBIHL ‘Deemed to be University’ Convened Today

Admissions for Academic Year 2026-27 Across Constituent Colleges to Commence Under the Aegis of NSCBIHL

Sri Vijaya Puram, June 2: The first meeting of the Academic Council of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Learning (NSCBIHL), declared as a Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, was convened today in the Conference Hall of the Secretariat, Sri Vijaya Puram, under the Chairmanship of Vice Chancellor, Prof. Alok Kumar Rai.

The meeting marked a significant milestone in the academic governance of NSCBIHL, as members deliberated on academic planning, regulations, and institutional strengthening. The Council approved the academic and examination regulations to ensure compliance with UGC and respective Statutory Regulatory Authority norms and finalized the framework for academic planning and monitoring to streamline curriculum delivery and evaluation.

The Academic Council resolved that admissions from the Academic Year 2026–27 would commence across all constituent colleges under the aegis of NSCBIHL, thereby ensuring a smooth transition into the new institutional framework.

The Vice Chancellor congratulated the members for becoming part of the maiden Council meeting of the university and emphasized the importance of collective efforts to uphold the education standards in establishing NSCBIHL as a premier institution of higher learning in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. This meeting set the foundation for structured academic governance and paved the way for NSCBIHL’s journey towards realizing the objectives of NEP 2020 in higher education.
