GB Pant Hospital Conducts Training Session on Infection Prevention and Control Practices

Sri Vijaya Puram, July 30: G.B. Pant Hospital recently conducted a comprehensive training session on infection prevention and control practices with a focus on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), aimed at empowering its frontline sanitation staff with vital skills and knowledge for maintaining hospital hygiene and safety.

The training was inaugurated by Dr. M.K. Saha, Medical Superintendent of G.B. Pant Hospital, and Dr. Arpita Saha, Additional Medical Superintendent. They emphasized the pivotal role of sanitation workers in infection control and public health protection.

Organized jointly by the Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Cell and the Kayakalp Team of the Hospital, the session aimed to reinforce awareness and best practices related to infection control protocols within healthcare facilities, the growing threat and impact of antimicrobial resistance, surveillance mechanisms to monitor infection trends and safety measures for healthcare workers.

The training was led by Dr. Shahina Mustaqim, Nodal Officer (AMR), and Dr. Rohit Das, Nodal Officer (Kayakalp), who engaged the participants through practical demonstrations and discussions aligned with national health guidelines.

The event concluded with a group interaction session and a collective pledge to uphold infection prevention as a shared responsibility in safeguarding patient and worker safety.
