
Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 25: MY Bharat, Sri Vijaya Puram, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, organised a Hindi Seminar along with Slogan Writing, Poetry and Letter Writing Competitions at the Maharashtra Mandal Auditorium, Sri Vijaya Puram, on the occasion of Hindi Pakhwada 2026–27.
The programme was organised with the objective of promoting the use of Hindi among youth and encouraging its wider use in day-to-day communication as well as official work. National Youth Volunteers and members of Youth Clubs participated enthusiastically in the programme.
Shri Naresh Chander Lal, Padma Shri Awardee and Swachh Bharat Ambassador, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, he highlighted the importance of cleanliness, discipline, social responsibility, service to society and positive thinking in the lives of young people. He encouraged the youth to adopt good values, cleanliness and a sense of social responsibility in their daily lives. He also emphasised that language is not merely a medium of communication but an important means of preserving and promoting our culture, values and thoughts.
Shri Govind Ram, Retired DANICS, attended the programme as the Guest of Honour. In his address, he emphasised the use of Hindi in daily life and stated that the use of Hindi should not remain confined to Hindi Day or Hindi Pakhwada, but should become a regular part of official noting, drafting, correspondence, e-mails and day-to-day communication, wherever appropriate.
Dr. Manju Nair, Associate Professor, JNRM, attended as the Special Guest and spoke on the impact of literature on our daily lives. She explained how literature enriches an individual’s thoughts, sensitivity, behaviour and understanding of society. She encouraged the youth to develop the habit of reading and to connect with literature as a means of understanding life and society.
Shri Sukha Ranjan Biswas, Joint Director, MY Bharat, and Shri Deepak Kumar, District Youth Officer, MY Bharat, were also present on the occasion and addressed the gathering. The speakers encouraged the youth to make greater use of Hindi in their daily activities and to remain connected with Hindi language and literature.
At the outset, Shri Gopal Ch. Biswas, Accounts & Programme Supervisor (OSD), MY Bharat, welcomed the guests and participants and highlighted the purpose and significance of the programme. He stated that MY Bharat is working towards the overall development and empowerment of youth and facilitating their active participation in nation-building activities. As part of this endeavour, MY Bharat is also promoting the use of Hindi among youth, particularly encouraging the use of simple, effective and practical Hindi in day-to-day life and official work.
The programme was also coordinated with the support of Dr. Sunita Patil, Secretary, Andaman Mahila Mandal, whose cooperation contributed to the successful conduct of the event.
Birth Anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Observed
The Birth Anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Ji was also observed during the programme with due respect and reverence.
The Chief Guest Shri Naresh Chander Lal, Guest of Honour Shri Govind Ram, Special Guest Dr. Manju Nair, Shri Sukha Ranjan Biswas, Joint Director, MY Bharat, Shri Deepak Kumar, District Youth Officer, along with other guests, MY Bharat officials, youth volunteers and participants, garlanded the portrait of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Ji and offered floral tributes.
The guests also spoke about the life, values and teachings of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Ji, particularly his philosophy of Integral Humanism, Antyodaya and service to society, and encouraged MY Bharat volunteers to draw inspiration from his ideals and contribute towards the welfare of society, particularly the weaker and disadvantaged sections.
The Slogan Writing, Poetry and Letter Writing Competitions provided the participating youth with an opportunity to express their creativity, ideas and thoughts in Hindi.
At the conclusion of the programme, Shri Gopal Ch. Biswas, APS (OSD), MY Bharat, proposed the Vote of Thanks and expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, Special Guest, other dignitaries, participants, youth volunteers and supporting organisations for their valuable presence and cooperation.
