Sri Vijaya Puram, May 18: The Houselisting Operations of Census 2027, conducted in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands from 16th April 2026 to 15th May 2026, have been successfully concluded across the entire archipelago.
The exercise marked the first-ever Census operation undertaken completely through digital means using the dedicated Census Management and Monitoring Portal and mobile applications. The newly introduced Self-Enumeration (SE) Portal also witnessed enthusiastic participation from the residents of the Islands. Families proactively submitted their Census details online during the period from 1st April to 15th April 2026.
The Census Directorate expresses its sincere thanks to the general public for their cooperation, the Andaman and Nicobar Administration and all officials and functionaries involved in the successful conduct of the exercise.
The comprehensive data generated through this exercise will serve as an essential foundation for future infrastructure development and the effective implementation of welfare schemes across the Islands.
Following the successful completion of the Houselisting phase, preparations will now commence for the second phase, namely Population Enumeration, which is scheduled to be conducted in February 2027.
