Senior Citizen Shows COVID-19 Symptoms after Reaching Neil Island

Port Blair, May 27: A senior citizen who had arrived at Port Blair on 25th May 2020 from Chennai has been showing COVID-19 symptoms soon after he reached Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep) today afternoon. The senior citizen had been to Chennai as an attendant of a patient who needed a review after getting treated.

Port Blair, May 27: The Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has informed the Lt. Governor that the Kharif season in our Islands starts with arrival of South West monsoon and farmers are eagerly waiting to procure agricultural inputs like paddy seed, vegetable seeds, fertilizers etc. as these inputs are not readily available in the Sub Depots of Agriculture department in different Islands. The MP has therefore requested the Lt. Governor to consider the following relief to the farmers and cultivators of these Islands:-

PBMC provides basic civic amenities i.e. drinking water including its distribution network, solid waste management including door to door collection / segregation/ transportation etc., construction and maintenance of roads / footpaths / retaining walls and implementation of major flagship programmes of Government of India. 

Port Blair, May 27: The Central Crime Station police in its continuous efforts to crackdown on bootlegging, illegal and spurious liquors, strikes hard against bootleggers and conducted a raid at Chidiyatapu area.

Port Blair, May 27: The staff of PS Central Crime Station conducted raid at Mazar Pahad area and arrested 05 gamblers with above Rs. 45,000.

On 15th May 2020, acting upon information regarding Gambling in Mazar Pahad near Church, a team comprising of Inspr. Mohd Elias, SI T. Dilla Rao, Head Constables K. Venkateswar Rao, Upender Singh, Lokeswar Rao, Constables P.K Mondal, K. Rajendran, and constable G. Ravi raided the spot at around 1815 hrs. All the 05 Gamblers were arrested and Rs. 47,830/- in cash were recovered from their possession with board money of Rs. 45,800/-.
