Port Blair, Nov. 4: The District Administration, North & Middle Andaman has released Ex-Gratia Assistance to the kin of the deceased due to COVID-19 with the recommended amount of Rs. 50,000/- per deceased person as per the guidelines issued by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Government of India, in pursuance of Hon’ble Supreme Court Judgment in W.P. (C) No. 539 & 554 of 2021.

Port Blair, Nov. 4: Keeping its commitment of zero tolerance against illegal activities, the staff of PS Central Crime Station conducted raid at Restaurant Shanthi’s Kitchen, Brichgunj Chowk and arrested 04 gamblers.

On 02/11/2023 night, on receipt of credible information regarding Gambling at Shanthi’s Kitchen Restaurant, Brichgunj Chowk, a team of PS CCS reached at the spot and found four people playing cards in the restaurant. The team successfully caught all the Gamblers who tried to flee from the spot.

Port Blair, Nov. 4: The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Labour, Textiles and Skill Development, headed by its Chairman, Shri Bharatruhari Mehtab arrived on a 5-day visit to A&N Islands yesterday. The other members of the committee include Shri Satish Kumar Gautam, Adv. Dean Kuriakose, Shri Dayakar Pasunoori, Shri Khalilur Rahaman, Shri Bhola Singh, Shri Kunwar Pushpendra Singh Chandel, Shri K Subbarayan, Shri Giridhari Yadav, Shri Naresh Bansal, Shri Neeraj Dangi, Shri R Dharmar and Shri Elamaran Kareem.

Port Blair, Nov. 4: 'Up-scaling Aapda Mitra Scheme' of Government of India is being implemented by National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in partnership with State Governments and State Disaster Management Authorities. Under this scheme, a target has been set to train 300 community volunteers (100 from each district) of A&N Islands with the basic skills for responding to their community's immediate needs during and in the aftermath of a disaster. These trained volunteers can assist in saving lives using the basic techniques of disaster response, coordination and management.
