Port Blair, Nov. 10: BSNL, Andaman & Nicobar Telecom Circle has regretted to announce that the OFC network of BSNL has been unfortunately damaged by private Telecom Service Provider (TSP), M/s AIRTEL. Due to indiscriminate and careless underground digging operations carried out by this TSP, the underground OFC cables have been severed at more than SIX places in and around Port Blair, within the last fortnight, by the contractors of the TSP. BSNL had cautioned them on several occasions to be careful in their activities, but to no avail.  

Eco Club and Nature Club of Kendriya Vidyalaya Comes Up with Water Reservoir in its Campus

Port Blair, Nov. 9: As part of the “Catch the Rain Campaign”, a water conservation initiative was started by the Eco-Club and Nature Club of Kendriya Vidyalaya supported by the District Administration. The first glimpses of the success of the project has been witnessed with the construction of a huge reservoir developed within the School Campus. 

Port Blair, Nov. 9: In order to strengthen the infrastructure facility for COVID-19 management, the District Administration in collaboration with the civil society has donated one Omni Ambulance to Health department. It was flagged off in presence of Commissioner.-cum-Secretary (Health), Secretary (Health), ADM, DHS and other doctors of the Health department.

MP Requests LG to Resume the OT Services

Port Blair, Nov. 8: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands to resume the Operation Theatre (OT) in GB Pant Hospital, Port Blair for conducting surgeries for patients suffering from various ailments. The request was made since no operations (excepts for emergency cases) are being conducted since last two months.
