Port Blair, Jan. 10: The Department of Botany, JNRM has adopted Sippighat Village in April 2022 on a long-term basis. The adoption program, which is part of the non-audit course for M.Sc. students, is prescribed by Pondicherry University. On 9th January, as part of the adoption program, the M.Sc. 1st & 2nd Year Students of the Botany Department visited Sippighat village and organized a range of activities like plantation of medicinal trees and demonstrations of the importance of herbal medicine in daily life.

Port Blair, Jan. 10: The schedule of All India Trade Test (AITT) for supplementary candidates has been received from Directorate General of Training (DGT). New Delhi for Trade Practical & Engineering Drawing subjects of annual pattern (2018 to 2021) and semester pattern (2014 to 2017), under the Craftsman Training Scheme (CTS) for various Engineering and Non-engineering trades.

Sitanagar, Jan 9: The final meeting of the Gram Sabha of Sitanagar Panchayat to give approval to the proposed action plans for the year 2023-2024 was held today at the conference hall of the Panchayat. Chairing the meeting, the Gram Pradhan Shri Biplab Mondal said that the present panchayat will leave no stone unturned for the welfare of the villagers. To get the basic amenities to the last man in the queue is the priority of his team, he said. Addressing the villagers, who turned out in large numbers, the Pradhan said, his Panchayat has done record number of works in the very short span of its tenure of 9 months till now.
