On the occasion of Armed Forces Veterans Day, I convey my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all the veterans and their family members.

We are proud of our veterans who have selflessly served the country with courage, dignity and duty. Thousands of youths of these Islands are either serving or have served in the Armed Forces and this is the day to Salute them for their services.

On the auspicious occasion of Lohri, Makar Sankranti and Pongal,. Mr Angshuman Roy, State President ( Youth) and all Hindu Rashtra Shakti members of Andaman and Nicobar Islands have greeted all the people of these islands and wished them prosperity, joy, good health and peace. “This being a harvest festival, we all must recognize the contributions of our farmers to the well being of the country,” said Mr Roy.

On the occasion of Armed Forces Veterans Day on 14th January, I extend my heartiest wishes to all veterans in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. This day is celebrated each year on 14th January to pay tribute to the selfless devotion and exemplary service rendered by our veterans in the service of the Nation.

Port Blair, Jan 13: Along with the rest in the country, the Armed Forces Veterans Day will also be observed in A&N Islands tomorrow (Jan.14) . Jan.14 every year is commemorated  as Armed Forces Veterans Day  as a mark of respect and recognition to the services rendered by Field Marshal KM Cariappa, the first Indian Chief of Indian Army who retired from service on Jan 14, 1953.
