Port Blair, Jan 23: CITU has demanded additional buses and ferry services for the passengers of Port Blair and South Andaman areas. In a letter sent to the Chief Secretary, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, B. Chandrachoodan, General Secretary of the CITU, A & N State Committee said that after revised SOP has come into force from 11th January, 2022, the passengers in the public transport services at Port Blair and South Andaman areas and ferry services between Chatham  and Bambooflat sector are facing hardship to avail the bus services and ferry services.  Only 50% passengers are accommodated in the buses and ferry boats. 

Port Blair, Jan 23: Continuing to fight against Corona, team Port Blair Guru Ki Rasoi handed over 6,900 bottles of Sanitizers to South Andaman District Administration.

The team handed over the Santinizers to Shri Sunil Anchipaka, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman and Shri Hari Kallikkat, ADM, SA at Balika Niketan.

 

Port Blair, Jan 23: Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon'ble Lt Governor, A&N Islands and Vice-Chairman, Islands Development Agency participated in the Video Conference Chaired by Shri Narendra Modi, Hon'ble Prime Minister of India for interaction with different Aspirational Districts of States/ UTs to review implementation of various Schemes/Programmes of Government of India with the support of NITI Aayog.

Port Blair, Jan. 23: Along with the rest of the country, the 125th Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was also observed in A&N Islands today. Rich tributes were paid to Netaji at a function held at the statue of Netaji at Marina Park. The Principal Secretary, A&N Administration, Dr. V. Candavelou paid floral tributes to Netaji followed by floral tributes by Officers of A&N Administration, senior Police officials and others.
