2,87,216 beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far

Port Blair, Sept. 18: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,97,664 doses of vaccine have been administered to beneficiaries so far in A&N Islands. 6,21,455 doses of vaccine have been administered to beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above. Similarly, 47,618 doses of vaccine have been administered to beneficiaries in the age group of 15 to 18 years. 28, 591 doses of vaccine have been administered to beneficiaries in the age group of 12 to 14 years. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 2,87,216, a press release from DHS said.

Port Blair, Sept. 18: Three COVID positive cases have been detected today in A&N Islands, of which one was from incoming flight passenger who arrived here yesterday. Today, 11 flights with 1858 passengers arrived, out of which, 1752 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 84 passengers and the reports are awaited.  

Port Blair, Sept. 16: Around 25 students of Government Model Sr. Sec. School, Port Blair today fell ill, complaining of stomach pain and giddiness after they were allegedly administered de-worming medicines. The students had to be rushed to the G.B. Pant hospital in ambulances were they remain under observation.  

The incident took place in the afternoon hours when the students started falling ill one after the other. The parents remained under panic when their wards did not return home on time. Few were informed by the school while others had gone to the school to check when they were given the information.

The discussions were very constructive and fruitful.

Port Blair, Sept. 16: A three-day international conference ‘ANGAN 2022’ (Augmenting Nature by Green Affordable New-habitat) ‘Making the Zero-Carbon Transition in Buildings’ organized by BEE from September 14 to 16 at Hotel Ashok, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi was inaugurated by Shri Alok Kumar, Secretary, Ministry of Power. The winners of the BEE’s 1st National Energy Efficiency Roadmap for Movement towards Affordable and Natural habitat (NEERMAN) Awards were felicitated during the award function which was held on Sept.15.  These awards are institutionalized with the objective to acknowledge and encourage exemplary building designs complying with BEE’s Eco-Niwas Samhita (ENS) and Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC).
