Conclave Aims at Understanding the in-situ Issues Hindering the Growth of Food Processing Sector

Port Blair, Dec.9: The Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Govt. of India with the support of   Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Kolkata and Directorate of Industries, Andaman & Nicobar Administration organized ‘Andaman Food Processing Conclave’ on 8th December, 2022 at Megapode Nest here. Agriculture and Food Processing is one of the major sectors of the Indian economy in view of its large potential for growth and likely socio-economic impact specifically on employment, wealth and income creation. The Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Govt. of India is taking initiatives to promote investment, Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme and awareness for up-gradation of technology in the food processing industries sector in Andaman through this Seminar where all important stake holders will meet and discuss critical issues pertaining towards development of industry in food processing sector.

Girls advised to have high moral values to achieve goals in life

Dilgipur, Dec 9: An awareness programme on ‘Adolescence Challenges’ was held today at Government Model Senior Secondary School Sitanagar. The invited experts from the different departments expressed their opinion on the topic, stressing upon the important aspects. Addressing the girls, the resource person from the Community Health Centre Diglipur, Dr. Shipra said that Adolescence is a very crucial period in one’s life. During this phase the student goes through tremendous emotional turmoil. She said the student should accept the natural physical changes the body goes through during this period.

Port Blair, Dec. 9: The CPI (M) strongly condemns the action on the part of the authorities to ban photography and videography by the media in the GB Pant Hospital, Port Blair from today morning.  Media has reported that this was done after the VIP accused person in the gang rape case has been admitted in the GB Pant Hospital yesterday night. 

Port Blair, Dec. 9: A two-day Quality Management System training and one-day Review Meeting of facility level staff was organized by the Basic Services Division of A&N AIDS Control Society in association with SAATHII, Chennai from 6th -8th Dec. 2022 in the conference hall of Department of Industries, Port Blair.

The program was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr. Ruby Thomas, Associate Professor, ANIIMS, A&N Administration by lighting the traditional lamp. In her address, the Chief Guest emphasized on early detection of HIV case by qualitative testing. Now it’s 36 years of journey and we are trying our level best to end AIDS by 2030. At this point, we cannot be complacent as there is lot more to be done and it can only happen by working together.

Port Blair, Dec. 9: A general body meeting of the Panchayat Secretaries working under the Department of RD, PRIs & ULBs was held recently at Port Blair and formed a Sub-Committee under the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
